If you're reading this, I thank you for sticking around my blog despite the lack of updates in the recent weeks. Following my grandmother's funeral and then heading into the Labor Day weekend for a friend's Indian wedding - I just felt drained of energy to be able to blog and started relapsing a bit due to lack of rest and some stress (and maybe I ingested a GERD trigger food/drink?).
However, that's not why you're here - let's talk about Clove & Hallow and their amazing highly pigmented lip collections! I am so proud to be one of their brand ambassadors/influencer affiliate as a part of their affiliates program. As you know, I'm highly selective when it comes to brands I want to work with since I have extremely sensitive skin and living with chronic illness. I only support brands that are toxic-free, cruelty-free, and high-quality all around. Clove and Hallow is a brand developed by a professional make-up artist with an exceptional standard of long-lasting pigmentation and moisture. All their products speak for themselves and combine elements of botanicals, oils, and vegan ingredients.
I'm very particular with lipsticks because I have extremely sensitive skin and usually refrain from using most lip products for fear of them drying out my lips. I'm glad I stumbled onto Clove and Hallow's Lip Creme line! These are so smooth, non-drying, and highly pigmented. I only had to re-apply once after 4-6 hours of normal wear.
My favorite out of the shades that I've tried so far is definitely Desert Rose. It's the perfect every day pink without looking over the top. Great for meetings at the office, casual days, and even nights out with friends. I'm not one for bold lips but the Sugared Plum would be my second favorite if you're looking for something a bit more glam and slightly more bold. On me, it's a bit more of a pink-purple color but on my friend, it's a beautiful light mauve color.
My friend also has very sensitive skin so I was careful to use mostly green beauty products on her for her wedding needs lat weekend. I was honored to be her MUA, hairstylist, and bridesmaid for her beautiful wedding. I incorporated some Clove and Hallow lip products for her looks and she picked out the Sugared Plum lip creme among 8 other lip swatches from several different brands! My friend loved the lipstick so much, I decided to gift them to her since I have plenty of other lip products to go through and usually don't rock bright or bold colors.
Lip Velvets are a super long-lasting lip stain that reminds me of LipSense (but without the need for more than one application or coats). I love the staying power and how it does not budge. Seriously, this stuff will stay on your lips for hours. No more embarrassing lip stains on your significant other, coffee cups, tea cups, mugs, or napkins! I bought two lip velvets to try - Sugarbear and Cupcake.
Sugarbear is more of a deep plum mauve color while Cupcake is a dark nude that comes out pretty warm on me. I would advise anyone who is trying out these lip velvets for the first time to go easy on the wand and apply a light layer first to see how much product you'll need. I had a difficult time removing them after wear but that's just a testament to how committed they are to stay on your lips! I would recommend getting the C&H Makeup Melt which I have not tried yet (next on my list) to remove lip velvets or use an oil based makeup remover. It's almost 1:30AM here in NYC and tomorrow is a Monday so I better head to bed. Thanks for reading lovely! Let me know if you have any questions about these products in the comments below.
